This chapter is for the benefit of most of you who have not driven a big rig, probably never will and have little knowledge of trucks. I will describe some aspects of driving my truck that are typical of many trucks on the road today. The purpose is not to alarm you, but to begin to impress on you the importance of attention and care around big trucks. For illustration, a few observations and tips are touched on here. Situations and safe driving responses detailed in other chapters stem from factors described in this chapter.
